By: WMBD/WYZZ TV News Staff
Updated: April 3, 2009

WMBD/WYZZ TV – ILLINOIS -- Just 24 hours after the indictment issued against former Governor Rod Blagojevich, lawmakers in Illinois are already taking action to erase the his legacy. The first target is the state pension system.

The former governor is charged with corruption involving billions of dollars in state pension bonds. A plan is now on the table which would call for the firing of anyone appointed to the state pension board by Blagojevich. The proposed law would also impose stricter ethical standards for all pension managers in Illinois.
