A bill which could provide more state funding to Peoria District 150 moved another step closer to passage Thursday. The bill, which has already passed in the Illinois House, arrived Thursday in the Illinois Senate for its first reading. The bill, sponsored by Peoria Representative Jehan Gordon, could mean almost 200 thousand dollars at a time when the district is facing a multi million dollar deficit. The legislation would update part of a complicated general state aid formula used to determine how much state funding goes to each school district.
