Peoria Man Charged in Starr Street Murder

A 32 year old Peorian was formally charged Wednesday with two counts of murder for the citys second homicide of the year. Tyrone Hopkins is accused of shooting Lonnie Williams in the head on Starr Street early Tuesday. Another man , who was also shot at the same time is recovering from his wounds. Its unclear what the motive for the shooting was. Court records indicate Hopkins has been convicted of obstructing justice and a drug charge and is awaiting trial on a misdemeanor domestic battery case. This case will most likely be heard by a grand jury.
