Reform Politics in Illinois

WMBD/WYZZ TV – PEORIA --The Blagojevich scandal not only left taxpayers with a sour taste in their mouth, it left people calling for reforms in Springfield. Today, an independent think tank called The Illinois Reform commission held a meeting at Bradley University.

Several experts talked about better checks and balance options for state government. One witness said we should change the way we pass the state budget so there's more oversight. State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias testified and says changing the pension system could save Americans millions. A professor says we need to change the way we draw district lines.
