Living Wage...Dead.

WMBD/WYZZ – BLOOMINGTON - Bloomington's proposed Living Wage referendum is dead.  Wednesday the "Central Illinois Organizing Project" sited projected, "mass city worker layoffs" as the reason the Living Wage referendum could not be considered in the 2009-10 city budget.  The referendum would have paid Bloomington city and Coliseum workers a living wage of at least $9.81 per hour.  The CIOP goes onto say the living wage is a moral issue and will not go away because of - quote - "city budget mismanagement."
