WMBD/WYZZ TV – PEORIA -- A somber occasion today on the sixth anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Although the US is no longer officially at war with Iraq, troops remain in the region. Here at home, one local soldier wants us to remember his fellow troops serving overseas. Staff Sergeant Justin Hinderliter says 100 other local Illinois National Guard soldiers and Airmen are in Iraq. Hinderliter himself has been deployed twice. His unit has seen 250 people go overseas; he says he was proud to help the condition of the Iraqi people.
