District 150 Changes School Start Times

WMBD/WYZZ TV - PEORIA - Peoria School District 150 votes tonight to work with an outside organization to plan and organize its budget.

At a cost of 85-hundred dollars, board members approved an agreement with PMA Financial. That's a group formed by former superintendents who help school districts create budget templates. Their knowledge would help District 150 make better and more informed decisions about financial issues.

The board also approved a new bell schedule which officials hope saves the district thousands of dollars by staggering school start times, resulting in fewer buses and fewer drivers.

Under the new plan, high schools would start 25 minutes later, middle schools 25 minutes earlier and primary schools 15 minutes later.
