WMBD/WYZZ TV – PEORIA -- Peoria City Council will discuss a liquor moratorium around the site of the future downtown Marriot Hotel. If passed, the moratorium would put a hold on new liquor licenses until 2011 in the so-called "hospitality improvement zone."

The goal is to reduce the number of liquor license applications flooding into the city. The hope is to promote other types of development near the new hotel. Although, Councilman Clyde Gulley says the proposed ordinance could scare developers away.
