WMBD/WYZZ TV – PEORIA -- About 1,800 students laced up their dancing shoes. 111 schools from across the state held a state dance championship at the Civic Center. Students competed in everything from hip-hop, pom, lyrical, and flag. Many schools have attended an average of four other conferences before making it to state. Teams are rated on accuracy, technique, and choreography. Many students have been training all year long to take home a trophy.
