Four area hospitals would benefit from a bill which passed the Illinois Senate Thursday. That bill will help statewide hospitals qualify for federal funding from a recently approved program. Graham Hospital in Canton will receive over two million dollars, Pekin Hospital will get a little less than two million while Methodist Medical Center in Peoria will get 11.6 million and OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria will receive 10.6 million dollars. The Hospital Assessment Plan makes 900 million dollars of federal matching money available and the Interfund Borrowing Act allows state hospitals to capitalize on this opportunity.
