WMBD/WYZZ-TV—PEORIA--Peoria Police are looking to reduce your odds of becoming a target for robbery.

  Public information Officer Doug Burgess says the department is expanding its efforts by posting updated information relating to robberies on its website.

   On the site you can find tips on preventing robbery such as maintaining good exterior lighting, and cutting back any shrubbery a criminal could use to hide.

  Burgess says key to all this information is what to do in the event you experience a robbery.

Business owners and managers should also pay close attention to the direction the robber leaves, note the details of any vehicles used.
