WMBD/WYZZ TV/RNS – ILLINOIS -- Another Illinois official is reportedly joining the Obama administration. Reports indicate that President Barack Obama intends to nominate Tammy Duckworth to be an assistant secretary for the US Department of Veterans affairs. Duckworth currently is the director of the Illinois department of veteran’s affairs. In her new post, she would handle public and intergovernmental matters. Duckworth earned a purple heart and other military honors for her service in Iraq.
