WMBD/WYZZ— Bloomington— Ameren officials say Bloomington could be facing a collapse in voltage by 2011. So, the utility company is taking action to fix this potential problem. Ameren plans to build an electrical transmission line between two existing substations. They say this will improve reliability of service and add capacity for future load growth. The project will cost an estimated $20 million. Company officials say it is too early to tell if customers rates will go up to help pay for the improvement.
