CAT Announces More Layoffs

More than 750 production, support, and management employees in
Some 800 workers at CAT’s Mossville plant were notified early on Friday that they would no longer have to come into work. Those employees were notified of those layoffs in mid-December. Cat spokesman, Jim Dugan says the employees will be compensated with full pay and benefits until February 23rd.
Officials at Big Yellow say the layoffs are in response to less demand in state facilities.
Officials say that more layoffs could be in the future depending on the economy. CAT is currently cutting back with hiring freezes, compensation reductions, and shortened weekends.
