Trial for a Peoria man, charged with murdering his mother last year, was delayed for a few months because psychological tests are not yet completed. 20 year old John Finnegan is accused of strangling his mother to death at her home on Merrimac Drive last July. According to Peoria County States Attorney Kevin Lyons, Finnegan had sexual relations with his mother and then murdered her. Finnegan was arrested two days after the murder in Stark County while sleeping in his moms car. Finnegan, who has pleaded not guilty, goes on trial June 15th.
