An Olympic Boost

WMBD/WYZZ TV/RNS – ILLINOIS -- While some say Blagojevich's alleged dealings may be harming the state of Illinois, reports indicate the Land of Lincoln may soon be able to gain some much needed economic ground.

A new study indicates the state could stimulate more than $22-billion in economic activity, if Chicago were to host the 2016 Olympics. The boost would linger for a span of about ten years - from 2011 to 2021.

A decision on the host city is still about nine months away. Chicago is competing with Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.
