Decorative Droppings

WMBD/WYZZ— Bloomington— Don't be surprised if you get poop for Christmas, that’s right, poop. "Magical Reindeer Gem Ornaments" made out of the animal's feces, are selling out daily at the Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington. Rika and Ealu the Reindeers both live at Miller Park and their zookeeper says they produce a large pile of small marble-sized droppings. The droppings are then dried, glazed, painted and glittered. Each ornament comes with a letter of authenticity.
"It says that it's from the reindeer at Miller Park Zoo and to decorate your tree with the beautiful ‘Magical Reindeer Gem Ornaments’ on Christmas Eve to help Santa and his reindeer find their way,” said Miller Park Zoo Marketing Director, Susie Ohley.
The park's gift shop opens at 9:30 a.m. Gift shop employees say the ornaments sell out in less than ten minutes.
