Redbird Recruit Glad Next Stop is Close to Home

WMBD/WYZZ-TV - PEORIA, Ill. - Paris Lee spent the weekend in Peoria Arena trying to win a high school basketball state championship.
On his future trips to Carver Arena, he'll be trying to win Missouri Valley Conference games. The point guard who helped Proviso East captured fourth place in the Class 4A state tournament is a key recruit for Illinois State.
"I didn't want to say this but I'm a momma's boy," admitted Lee. "And having her just a couple hours away to watch me play is a blessing."
Lee signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the redbirds last November.
"I really like the Redbirds because of their energy," said Lee." They play like Proviso East basketball, they run and jump.,, everyone scrapping. I love that basketball. And I'm ready to come and fill in."
