PEORIA - Just in time
for the most festive weekend of the Irish calendar, a local favorite is back in
business.
Donnelly's Shamrock Pub
officially opened the doors of its new location Thursday. The popular pub left
its spot of 42 years for the larger venue near Westlake Shopping Center in Peoria.
The owner says the
restaurant is now handicap accessible, and the dining and kitchen spaces are
larger, which gives the pub more options.
"We're really
focusing on the craft beers, crafted spirits and we're going to add some new
menu items for our customers. So it's really going to take that 42 year
experience and push it forth a little further and hopefully another forty-five
years, fifty years," said owner Ryan Donnelly.
The pub is open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on most
days. On Saint Patrick's Day, patrons have until 9 p.m. to enjoy bag pipers,
Corn beef and cabbage
and of course, green beer.
