Bill to Preserve Wildlife Prairie State Park Moves Forward

A bill to preserve Peoria County's Wildlife Prairie State Park advanced out of the Illinois House Executive Committee Wednesday. The bill would transfer the ownership of the park from the state back to the Friends of Wildlife Prairie Park. Both legislators say by transfering ownership from the financially strapped state to a private not for profit group, , it would allow some much needed improvements to be made. The park was founded by William Rutherford.
