WMBD/WYZZ-TV - MORTON, Ill. -- The Morton Lady Potters carry an 18-game winning streak into the state semifinals.
And Bob Becker isn't suprised.
"When (the calendar) hit January 2013, we've been incredibly consistent in practice and games. We've gotten better," said the Morton head coach. "I think Sarah (Livingston) is playing at the top of her game now. Our best players, Kate (Byrne) and Abbie (Cox) and our team is playing very well."
The Potters (30-4) believe they are playing at their peak as they head to state for the first time since 2007.
"I do think we're playing our best basketball," said junior Abbie Cox. "I think our defense has been better since the beginning of the season. That's what Morton is known for. I definitely think we've practiced haard and it's showing off."
Morton meets top-ranked Quincy Notre Dame (28-0) in the class 3A state semifinals Friday at 2 p.m. at Redbird Arena.
