PEORIA- Cultural dancing was just part of a diversity celebration at Peoria Academy Thursday night.
The school says it's student body represents more than 20 countries. That multiculturalism showed through the costumes on most of the kids as well as the platefuls of exotic food.
The school says this is just one opportunity for students to learn about each other's backgrounds.
"A lot of our families actually volunteer their time to come to the school and bring certain presentations to classrooms to just teach us about what's going on all over the world not just in Peoria," said Jen Smith, director of Peoria Academy Marketing and Admissions.
Smith said you can hear the diversity too, students from the Peoria Academy speak 22 languages.
