PEORIA--Many Walked The Streets Monday For Dr. King
After the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Luncheon on Monday, many people met at Bradley University to participate in the 28th annual Freedom March.
The march started at the Garret Building on Bradley University and ended at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Peoria.
The purpose of the march is to show appreciation for the things that Dr. King has done in his lifetime.
Even though temperatures were near single digits Monday afternoon, that didn't stop marchers from walking.
Many marchers said they've walked in colder weather before but what kept there spirits warm was the inspiration
they get from Dr. King's story.
