Small Explosion at ADM Plant

Peoria police say there was a small explosion around 3:00 Wednesday morning at the ADM plant in downtown Peoria, on the corner of Edmund and Washington.
Officials say a fire broke out after an explosion in the maintenance area of the Warehouse District Facility.
No serious injuries were reported, but police blocked off the area for a short period of time.
The north and southbound lanes of Washington street were closed between Chicago Street and MacArthur Highway for several hours before reopening
Residents in Peoria reported hearing the explosion from several blocks away.
The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
Operations at the plant have been momentarily halted at this time.
