A Bloomington man, arrested minutes after a Bloomington bank robbery last month, was sentenced to six years in prison Thursday. 49 year old Clifton T. Smith pleaded guilty to robbery while a burglary charge was dismissed as part of a plea agreement. Police say they nabbed him just minutes after the Commerce Bank was robbed. No weapon was displayed but using a description of the suspect, officers nabbed Smith near Huck's on Oakland Avenue. Authorities say when they stopped Smith he was "you got me" and police also recovered cash believed taken in the holdup.
