Gifts Taken From Under Brotherhood Tree

A Twin Cities Christmas cause is the victim of a holiday theft. Our radio partner WJBC has been delivering gifts to families in need for more than 40 years. Known as the Brotherhood Tree, items are collected, wrapped, and delivered to hundreds of McLean County families. WJBC is working with the Bloomington Police Department to find the theif. They believe the person who stole the presents used a fake name and phone number. Police say they are looking into it but have not yet gathered enough information to file a formal report.
Brotherhood Tree Coordinator Janae McGrew says "My hope is that the actions of this one individual don't overshadow all the good and all of the hundreds of volunteers that came together to make the program a success this year."
McGrew says they were able to get gifts out to the families whose presents were stolen, but they had to dip into their funds for the next
