PEORIA - Kids are taking action during the holiday season by helping the less fortunate through their own Christmas shopping
This year marks 29th annual the Crittenton Centers has put on the Stocking Stuffers Store.
Each one is full of items ranging from $1 to $8 and is open to kids under the age of 12.
Kids can buy things for everyone on their list, then volunteers help them purchase and wrap them.
All the money raised goes to the Central Illinois Crittenton Centers.
This year, they hope to raise thirty thousand dollars.
Jennifer Simmons of the Central Illinois Crittenton Centers said, "There are so many people that come up to me and tell me how much they love this event. They look forward to it. They make it part of their family tradition. It is something that many look forward to, because it is teaching the children to give back."
The Grand Prairie store will open up again next weekend.
The Northwoods Mall store will be open every day until the 19th.
