BLOOMINGTON - The United State Post Office is looking for new workers.
It held a job fair at the post office on Towanda Ave. in Bloomington on Wednesday.
Open positions include a processing clerk and mail handler. Both are based in Champaign and both are not guaranteed to be long-term jobs.
The post office says it needs people as it restructures operations.
Dennis Vaughn of Hudson is hoping to get hired. He just lost his job with Hostess and has a family to support.
"I'd prefer something more permanent then, you know, but you go where you have to go and hopefully it'll work into something else," Vaughn said.
Bloomington is losing its mail distribution and processing center next year. Those operations are being phased into Champaign and Peoria.
