MORTON-In September -- we told you about a three-year-old boy battling eye cancer.

His name is Beckham Zobrist -- and he's always wearing a smile.

But the sad fact is -- medical bills are piling up on his family.

Now,  people in Morton are trying to alleviate that pressure.

To hear your son has cancer is a horrible thing, but this mom says, her family is blessed.

Beckham's mom, Erin Zobrist, says, "You can't believe you are even saying things like that, but if your son has cancer, we're thankful it's gone this way, and we're thankful; that we are so surrounded."

Surrounded by all these people, that are at Grace Church in Morton to help out little Beckham and his family.

Organizer Joshua Trueblood says, "When we found out he had cancer and his mom and dad needed financial support for medical bills - we just wanted to help him out."

To help out, Joshua Trueblood organized a benefit for Beckham and his family, simply called "Benefitting Beckham.  The theme, a carnival, which makes sense, considering Beckham is full of energy and smiles.

"She said 'I got four boys, I want to do something for all four of muy boys are going to enjoy', and she said 'Carnival'," Trueblood says.

All day, the church was packed full of people, wanting to help out anyway they could.

Zobrist says, "There's a part of you that expects friends and family to be here, but when a stranger comes.  Thank them for coming our for no reason but love for this family."

And this family says they are blessed that so many people want to help out there son and help him win this battle.

"If you have to go through it, it's just so amazing to us how the Lord has taken some of that pain away through blessings," Zobrist says. We just woke up this morning, have for the last six weeks, lived thankfulness, and that is where are hearts are at right now."

Organizers have no specific goal they're trying to reach today.

The next step for the Zobrist family is to go to St. Jude to see if the cancer has spread.
