Tentative Fitness Decision for Toulon Mom

A Toulon mom, accused of abandoning her three week old baby, was found tentatively fit to stand trial Friday. Kendra Meaker is accused of endangering the life of a child and lying to police after her newborn, Mia Gracie Thompson, was found in a ditch in late September. Police say Meaker first claimed her child was missing which prompted an Amber Alert. However, later that day a couple found Meaker's baby in a ditch. A Peoria doctor says, in a one paragraph summary, Meaker is competent to stand trial. However, the psychologist wasn't able to finish his full report, so Meaker's public defender asked for another two weeks to see the full report before the judge makes a final ruling on Meaker's fitness. A preliminary hearing is tentatively set for November 30th.

Also, why is the media responsible for her actions? They just report callous actions, they don't cause them.
Ya'll need to drop the blame game here.

Don't need to walk in her shoes. No job, no home but, oh yeah, let me have 2 babies back to back while unmarried and living at my folks. I had my child before PPD was even thought of, raised him alone just fine. Put my big girl panties on and did right by him. He was never tossed aside like trash for me to be an attention seeking drama queen. You are her sister, so your opinion is biased.

There is more to these stories than what is posted in media. Walk in someones shoes for one day before judging them. There is always more to the situation than what the media knows. Even with adults in a home, signs aren't always obvious. Walk in her shoes for a few days. What else was going on behind closed doors. How was she being treated by her boyfriend, young couple trying to find their own home to be a family by themselves, she was unemployed, trust issues, unstable relationship possible with the father of girls, what has her emotional status been like earlier as a teenager just to mention a few things. Not even Jesus is judegemental of us all so why should we sit here and trash someone when there could be events in other peoples lives that can be aired out ot the public. Media thrives on these issues as others. Our world would be better if they would mind their own business and not spread such tragic events. I think this is a problemin our world. They ever stop to think what it does to others. I feel sorry this happened to her an dher baby but if one researches postpastum psyhosis and knows her home life, they can see what lead this to happen. Its like a nervous breakdown. She is dealing with the guilt of this all as it is and people like you so eager to put all the guilt on her.

Well, so much for PPD. Surely living with 3 other adults, they would have noticed PPD. Selfish woman.
