PEORIA-- The Peoria Fire Department Is Taking Classes to Fight Arson.
Classes started Friday morning at the Gateway Building in downtown Peoria.
Investigators, Prosecutors and fire-fighters all were present to learn more about arson.
Officials say arson is responsible for hundreds of lives and billions of dollars in damages every year.
They say training for arson is tough because a lot of evidence is washed away when fire departments are putting fires out but it's a critical to linking criminals with arson.
