BLOOMINGTON- A Bloomington man, arrested minutes after a Bloomington
bank robbery, was formally charged Wednesday with robbery and burglary.
49 year old Clifton T. Smith's bond was set at 75 thousand dollars.
Police say they nabbed Smith just minutes after the Commerce Bank was
robbed. No weapon was displayed but using a description of the suspect,
officers nabbed Smith near Huck's on Oakland Avenue. Authorities say
when they stopped Smith, he said you got me. Police also recovered cash
they believe was taken in the bank robbery.
