Midwest Food Bank of Peoria delivered 3 semi trailer loads of disaster boxes for the Salvation Army to distribute to victims of Hurricane Sandy. The food bank is waiting to hear further if they are needed to provide further semi loads. Every semi holds 800 family boxes. Each box serves a family of four. Volunteers hand pack each box which includes a variety of food and personal care items, including cereal, peanut butter, canned veggies and soups, mac and cheese, snack items, and paper products.
