PEKIN -- Space is limited at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin.
A new trend is bringing in more people for services, and now they're planning an expansion.
Owner Greg Henderson said people are moving toward one-day services, having the visitation and funeral back to back, which draws in a bigger crowd than when they were seperate services.
He says he's seeing more people who want a one stop shop in a funeral home and his new facility will help accommodate that.
"One of the biggest things and nation wide funeral homes are going to this is also providing a kitchen and dining area for families to come to after the cemetery service or after the memorial service. We'll have a kitchen at one end, tables will be set up and they can have their funeral lunch at one end of the facility," he said.
The new facility will also house a crematory.
It will be located at 2131 Velde Drive in Pekin and will be done next April.
