East Peoria Woman Found Drowned in River

An East Peoria woman was found dead in the Illinois River near North Pekin Tuesday morning. According to Coroner Carl Powell, 26 year old Megan N. Sibley was found about a half mile south of Lick Creek entrance into the river. Powell says he was notified by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conservation Police of the discovery. An autopsy Tuesday afternoon and preliminary results showed Sibley died of drowning but toxicology tests are still pending.
