BLOOMINGTON--A local lawyer is helping people in need get legal services.
Tim Kelly of Kelly Law offices is part of a new statewide initiative called "Access to Justice."
It's made up of attorneys and judges across Illinois and is exploring ways to make court access easier.
Ideas include handicap accessible courthouses, increasing legal services online, and making documents easier to understand.
"The focus is going to be on those individuals who have been denied access to the courthouses because of economic means, that's going to be the central focus but I think everybody's going to benefit in the end," Kelly.
The Illinois Supreme Court Commission will focus on civil matters like adoption, divorce and bankruptcy cases.
