WMBD/WYZZ-TV - CHILLICOTHE, Ill. -- Illinois Valley Central High School grad Jordan Parr was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 26th round of the First Year Player Draft Wednesday.
Parr, a junior-to-be at the University of Illinois, could wait and re-enter the draft next year since he has only played one year of college baseball. He transferred to Illinois from Parkland Community College last year.
The first baseman hit .348 for the Illini, leading the team in hitting, doubles, homers and runs batted in. His older brother Josh was drafted by Arizona in the 12th round in 2011.
