Normal Teen Sentenced for Gang Related Shooting

A Bloomington teenager, convicted of a weapons charge in connection with a gang related shooting on West Grove Street last June, was sentenced Friday to 14 years in prison. 19 year old Dakoda Pherigo was found guilty of aggravated discharge of a firearm while the same jury found him NOT GUILTY of aggravated discharge of a firearm. Police say Pherigo fired a shotgun at a resident in the 900 block of West Grove. Pherigo also received a five year sentence to be serve concurrently with his 14 year sentence for a burglary which authorities say stem from the suspect's entry into Walmart the same day as the shooting. The judge also revoked Pherigo's probation from another burglary case and sentenced him to three years in prison. All the sentences will be served together.
