A Metamora man, who spent a month in the hospital after a police confrontation last summer, asked to have two separate trials but a judge Friday said no to Kenny Meinders. Meinders is facing five felony charges and two misdemeanors. 36 year old Meinders reportedly wanted to have separate trials for the felonies and misdemeanors. He was indicted last November on aggravated battery, domestic battery and resisting police charges. Those charges stem from an August incident in which police say Meinders became combative and tried to disarm several officers called to the scene of a reported domestic dispute. Meinders is back in court June 4th.
