MBD/WYZZ-TV - PEORIA, Ill. -- At one point in hs life, Jacob Juergens weighed 340 pounds.
One hundred seventy pounds later, he can laugh about it.
"I wasn't exactly looking to throw myself in front of cameras," Juergens said.
Now he doesn't mind to take pictures. He doesn't mind taking his shirt off.
He weighs 170 pounds and has been a personal trainer at Gold's Gym in Peoria the past four years. he says it took him about seven yeas to lose that weight and now he wants to help others reach the same kid of goals.
"I was 50 pounds into my weight loss before people really started noticing," said Juergens. "Some people are like that. So it's good to have someone who sees you all the time saying, 'You know what, I notice a difference in you'. That's good."
Two years ago Juergens thought about getting into bodybuilding. Saturday he'll compete in the National Gym Association Heart of America Natural Classic at Five Points in Washington.
It will be his second bodybuilding competition.
"That was one of the scariest times of my life, the first time I did it last year," said Juergens of his first dabble into bodybuilding competition. "If I would have been first in line, we would have never gone out."
