WMBD/WYZZ-TV - PEORIA, Ill. -- Paul Hoilman had a single and triple to extend his hitting streak to 22 games, a franchise record for the Peoria Chiefs, the Class A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs .
The milestone came in a 2-1 loss to Beloit Wednesday night at O'Brien Field. Hoilman's second-inning infield hit gave him a 22-game hitting streak.
Hoilman shared the record with Kerry Robinson (1996) and Jack Wilson (1999), who each had 21-game hitting streaks when the Chiefs were affiliated with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Hoilman tripled and scored Peoria's only run of the night in the fourth inning.
