EL PASO - A little girl who died under tragic circumstances will be getting a headstone for her grave.
Last Friday, we told you about Wendell and Evelyn Rudesill of El Paso.
Their great-granddaughter, 4-year-old Kianna Rudesill, died a year ago from violent injuries after being taken from a Livingston County foster home.
Rudesill was never buried with a headstone.
Wendell and Evelyn decided to have a garage sale Saturday to raise money for one. Their initial goal was to get enough for a down payment.
But so many people from across central Illinois, the couple can now afford the headstone in full. All extra money will be used to pay off the girl's funeral costs.
Rudesill's death was ruled a homicide and is still under investigation. No one's ever been charged.
