Pets Find a New Home

PEORIA - This weekend was National Adoption Weekend.
Petsmart Charities are working with shelters to give families a chance to take home a pet.
Several shelters were at the Petsmart in Peoria today to show their pets to potential new families.
This included dogs and cats... which some were able to be taken home on the spot.
The goal was to get at least 60 pets adopted this weekend.
Volunteers say its heartwarming when a family and a pet are a perfect match.
Patti Kelton of The Ark Animal Shelter says, "Its very rewarding. We're here quite often at Petsmart. We see a lot of our former animals that come out to visit us, and it's really a rewarding thing." Petsmart Charities supports local shelters by providing outreach and awareness programs that help find homes for animals.
