A Peoria County man is in the hospital after a motorcycle accident Saturday morning.
It happened at 9:15 at Lincoln Street and Martin Luther King drive in Peoria.
The victim is Jeff Melton.
Police say he was leading a group of bikers when a woman pulled out of a gas station and hit him with her car.
Melton is recovering from several injuries, including a broken leg.
Two other bikers were also hurt.
Ironically, Melton's wife tells us the group was headed to a motorcycle awareness rally.
She never thought she'd have to use her husband as an example for people to watch out for bikers.
"We're not driving crazy or erratically. We just need people to understand that 'Hey, you share the road with us.' So please be cautious when you're driving and keep an eye out," said Nikki Melton."
Melton is in fair condition at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
The other bikers had scrapes and bruises.
Police have not yet given any tickets.
