Traffic Slowed To Repair Steal Structures, on I-74 This Weekend

By: WMBD/WYZZ TV Newsroom
Updated: May 4, 2012

Peoria- If possible, you may want to avoid I-74 in Peoria this weekend.

A massive light tower, installed as part of the interstate overhaul, will come down and be replaced.

The steel structure was damaged in a crash during a snow storm this winter just west of the Sterling Avenue overpass in the median.

The contractor, replacing the tower, will stop traffic for up to an hour on Saturday to bring down the damaged tower, then shut lanes in both directions later that night or Sunday to install the replacement.

Seriously, "Steal Structures"? This was posted a minimum of 9 hours ago and noone has bothered to fix the headline?
