PEORIA-Mannequin's were coming alive today to raise awareness on teen pregnancy.

The children's home staff and community members participated in the 5th annual "Dirty Laundry Project" public awareness campaign.

Participants were drawing attention to the consistently high rate of teen pregnancies in Peoria County.

The "mannequin's" held signs with the number 352 that represents the number of teens who gave birth in Peoria County in 2011.

Events coordinator, Jody Smith-Brown said, "It takes a village to raise a child. What we have to do is as a community, step up and courageously step into the lives of young people. We need to no longer look at parents as the sole providers of what's good for children."

The people that participated in the campaign were registered to win an i-Pod touch, and the first 100 participants were able to keep their t-shirts.
