SPRINGFIELD- More rain and cooler temperatures didn't stop Illinois
farmers from proceeding with corn and soybean planting last week,
according to a release Monday from the Illinois Department of
Agriculture. There was a good deal of fieldwork completed last week. 79
percent of the corn crop has been planted compared to just 11 percent at
this time last year. 13 percent of soybeans are planted compared to
just one percent last year.
