UPDATE: Man Dead after Being Stabbed 40 to 50 Times

PEORIA - A Peoria man is dead after his girlfriend allegedly stabbed him 40 to 50 times.
The Peoria county coroner says 50 year old Ricky Rutherford Sr. died at OSF St. Francis Medical Center just after 3:30 Wednesday afternoon.
Police say Chevon Dixon, 22, used a kitchen knife to repeatedly stab her boyfriend after they got into an argument around 11:30 Tuesday night.
It happened in the 1100 block of Martin Luther King, Junior Drive. Police say two small children were in the home at the time.
An autopsy for Rutherford is scheduled for Thursday.
Police and the coroner are investigating.
