PEORIA- A group of Bradley students talked their way into national spotlight.
Tuesday the Bradley speech team returned to campus after winning two national championships. The competitions took place in Ohio and Texas over the last two weeks.
These are the top tournaments in the nation and multiple students won individual awards. The team's director is stepping down after this year.
The students say they wanted to win it for him.
"Everybody committed themselves to doing the best they possibly could do to make sure he left with this honor. So hopefully the university recognizes the amount of time that we put in," said junior Jacoby Cochran.
It's been fourteen years since Bradley won both competitions.
In its history, the speech team has won thirty nine national championships.
