PEORIA- Kids in Peoria enjoyed a fun day at the ball park for being drug free.
Tuesday was D.A.R.E. Day at Peoria Chiefs Stadium. The seats were packed with elementary and middle school students.
It's all to promote drug and violence awareness. All of the kids participated in the D.A.R.E. Program this year.
D.A.R.E. officers say it's great to get kids out of class and celebrate their accomplishments.
"Oh this is awesome. This is a great day at the ballpark. So the kids have a blast and get to see their friends from other school and it's a great time,"said Minier police chief Daryl Weseloh
More than 5,000 students from across central Illinios were at the game.
